Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Who we are
Chapter Seoul is a trade name operated by On The Shelf Co., Ltd. (주식회사 온더쉘프), a company registered in the Republic of Korea (business registration no. 582-81-03978), represented by Laura Sarah Koeppler, 5F, 169 Yeoksam-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea (the “Company”). Contact: contact@thechapterseoul.com · +82 10-8569-1707 (WhatsApp). Mail-order business report no. (통신판매업 신고번호): in progress.
2. Scope of these Terms
These Terms apply to all services booked through thechapterseoul.com or confirmed in writing by the Company, in particular: personal shopping and beauty curation, bespoke concierge services, private beauty, wellness and lifestyle experiences, and monthly events (together, the “Services”). Professional services (Retail Tours, brand and press collaborations) may be governed by a separate written agreement, which prevails over these Terms.
3. Nature of the Services
The Services consist of personalised advice, curation and on-site accompaniment based on the client’s needs and preferences. The Company is not a travel agency or tour operator and does not provide medical, aesthetic or healthcare services. The Company does not organise the client’s overall trip (flights, accommodation, meals, transport), although it may recommend or book third-party services at the client’s request and expense.
4. Medical services
The Company does not provide, organise, broker or sell any medical service, and receives no commission from any medical institution or medical-tourism provider. Where a client wishes to access medical services (e.g. dermatology, plastic surgery, health check-ups), these are handled exclusively by a licensed Korean medical-tourism partner and by the hospital concerned, under a separate contract concluded and paid directly by the client. The hospital remains solely responsible for all medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The Company does not transmit the client’s personal information to the medical partner, which collects any information it needs directly from the client, under its own privacy policy.
5. Prices
Prices are shown on the website in the displayed currency and include VAT where applicable. Unless stated otherwise, prices cover the accompaniment service only. Products purchased, treatments, entrance fees, transport, meals and other personal expenses are paid by the client directly to the relevant providers.
6. Booking and payment
Bookings are made online or confirmed in writing. Full payment (100%) is required at the time of booking; a booking is confirmed only once payment has been received and a confirmation sent. Payments are processed by secure third-party payment providers; the Company does not store card details. The Company may request additional information before confirming a booking and may decline a booking, in which case any amount paid is refunded in full.
7. Cancellation and changes by the client
Without prejudice to the statutory right of withdrawal in Article 8, the following schedule applies:
- More than 14 days before the Service: refund of the price less a 10% booking fee, or one free rescheduling (subject to availability).
- Between 14 days and 72 hours before the Service: 50% of the price is retained; the balance is refunded.
- Less than 72 hours before the Service, or no-show: 100% of the price is retained, as the Service is private, reserved for a fixed date and prepared in advance.
Cancellations must be sent in writing (email or WhatsApp); the time of receipt, in Seoul time (KST, UTC+9), is decisive. Late arrival does not extend the Service. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 3 business days of the cancellation being confirmed; bank processing times may apply.
8. Statutory right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article 17 of the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, a consumer may withdraw from a booking within 7 days of its confirmation and receive a full refund, provided the Service has not yet begun. The right of withdrawal ends once the Service has been provided. Withdrawal is notified in writing (email or WhatsApp) and the refund is made within 3 business days. For consumers in the European Union, dated leisure services are excluded from the EU right of withdrawal (Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU); the Korean right above nevertheless applies. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory right under the law of the client’s country of residence.
9. Cancellation or changes by the Company
The Company may adapt the Service to availability while preserving the nature and quality of the Service. If the Company must cancel a Service, the client may choose between a full refund and rescheduling at no cost. The Company may end a Service without refund in the event of seriously inappropriate or unsafe behaviour by the client.
10. Monthly events
Places at events are limited. Some events are free and subject to application and approval; submitting an application does not guarantee a place. Paid events follow the cancellation terms of Article 7. The Company may refuse admission to any person not previously confirmed.
11. Participants
The Services are intended for adults. Minors may only participate with the Company’s prior written consent and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
12. Client responsibilities
The client is responsible for their purchasing and treatment choices, for checking product ingredients and informing the Company of any allergy, sensitivity or health condition relevant to the Service (such information is collected only with the client’s explicit consent, as described in the Privacy Policy), and for holding appropriate travel and health insurance.
13. Liability
The Company undertakes to perform the Services with care and professional skill (obligation of means). Recommendations are given for information and do not guarantee any particular result. Except in the case of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Company, the Company is not liable for: the quality of or dissatisfaction with products or services supplied by third parties; skin reactions, allergies or adverse effects from products or treatments; loss, theft or damage to personal belongings; or delays and incidents caused by third parties or force majeure. Except in the case of intentional misconduct or gross negligence, the Company’s total liability is limited to the price paid for the Service concerned.
14. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control (including natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics, government measures, strikes or closure of venues). In such a case, the Service is rescheduled or, failing that, refunded.
15. Confidentiality and image
The Company treats the identity of its clients and the content of their requests as strictly confidential. No photograph, video or mention of a client is published without the client’s prior written consent. At events, attendees may be photographed or filmed only where indicated in advance; attendees may decline at any time.
16. Personal data
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws, as described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Intellectual property
All content on the website and all itineraries, selections and documents provided by the Company remain its exclusive property and may not be reproduced or used commercially without prior written consent.
18. Language
These Terms are available in English, French and Korean. In case of discrepancy, the English version prevails, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties will seek an amicable solution first; the client may also contact the Korea Consumer Agency or the relevant consumer dispute mediation body. Failing an amicable solution, disputes are submitted to the competent courts of Seoul, without prejudice to the mandatory rights of consumers to bring proceedings before the courts of, and to benefit from the protective provisions of the law of, their country of habitual residence.
20. Acceptance
By ticking the acceptance box and completing a booking, the client confirms having read and accepted these Terms and the Cancellation Policy.
